I'd never considered pulled pork at breakfast time, and was dubious when I saw it paired with eggs Benedict on the menu at Translate cafe in Shoreditch. None the less, when my order came I was ravenous and tucked in heartily. The pulled pork was sticky, sweet and thick and chunky and there was a lot of it, which put a dent in my hunger fast. Coming on Foccacia, instead of the traditional muffin, giving a nice texture and faint crunch, this is a mammoth brunch - I only managed half of mine.

The staff are really helpful and polite, and when a large party's order set ours back by about an hour, we were given free coffees and a chocolate and almond croissant to quiet our rumbling stomachs. The eggs Florentine and eggs Benedict are both £8.00.
